We began our association with Honest Abe Log Homes in 1992. After researching numerous log home companies, we decided that Honest Abe was the company for us. Selling their log packages would provide our customers with a very high quality, competitively priced log package. In our experience of buying a log package for our own home, we found that customer satisfaction was (and still is) a high priority with the folks at Honest Abe. This has enabled us over the years to provide top rate service, as well as a quality product.

In the beginning, our home served as our model and company headquarters. It wasn’t long until we realized the need for someone to build the homes, as it was sometimes hard to find an available crew that was knowledgeable about log homes. This brought about a career change for Ellis. With a background in carpentry and industrial education, he began not only selling the log packages, but received some additional training and formed our own crew to offer construction services for our log home customers. Sandy continued to help with the record keeping and meeting with customers while continuing with her teaching career in elementary education.

As the years went by, Honest Abe was continually expanding and upgrading the contents of their log home packages and their packages have become one of the most complete log packages in the industry. With this in mind, we felt it was important to give folks a better idea of what today’s log packages are like and in 2005 began planning to build a sales model showing all of the new features we have to offer. With our business continuing to grow, Sandy also made a career change at this time, and joined Ellis full time in the business.

Now, in 2007 we are ready to open the doors of our new sales model. The model has over 5000 square feet of finished space. Part of which is the model home area, a meeting room in which we will hold log home seminars, and a large showroom full of displays of our various products and furnishings for sale. Just as there is something special about log homes, there is also something special about the people that have an interest log homes. Over the last fifteen years we have been richly blessed by the friendships we have formed with the people that we have met through our business. A sense of being able to help others achieve their dream and these friendships are what have made the work rewarding.
